My name is schehera van dyk. I’ve been painting my entire life. I’m completely self-taught, which means I’ve learned through doing – a lifelong dance of trial and error, passion, and discovery. Every project has been both my teacher and my muse. I’m inspired by the mystery held within the designs of nature. I’m captivated by the elemental forces and vibrant colors that constantly change and shape the inherent beauty that is our planet. My work often begins as a feeling a vision or a personal challenge. I set for myself, pulling inspiration from nature, rhythm, emotion, and just the great mystery of being alive. Art for me is medicine. It’s how I stay grounded and stay open to wonder, beauty, and connection. Whether it’s a mural, a ceramic bowl or a bold splash of color on a canvas each piece is an offering from my spirit to yours.
