My “Watercolor Maiolica” pottery is a culmination of hand-built clay shapes and watercolor painting sealed in glaze.  I use traditional Maiolica materials but I paint watercolor style.  I love layering translucent colors using soft Chinese brushes whether it’s on pottery or paper.   I studied Textile Design and Fine Art in college and much later became a self-taught ceramicist.   Lately, I’ve been making vases and functional pottery out of black and porcelain clay.
