Judy Levit

In my abstract paintings I explore inner landscapes that are whimsical and dream-like and reflect my love of nature and color. My everyday experiences appear in my work in the form of pattern, marks and invented shapes; anything and everything can be a source of inspiration. Making art is a playful, experimental and problem-solving process where I alternate between action and more focused concentration. I paint and draw with brushes, fingers and various tools on canvas or wood panels or paper sometimes adding collage, text or found materials. Through my paintings I can communicate without words and create a universe that didn’t exist before. I invite viewers into these imaginary environments for an experience of their own.
