"I am interested in making paintings which focus on saturated color and light while searching for that particular moment in time when the landscape reveals itself. I often go out in the early mornings and evenings to try and capture the subtle, ephemeral transformations of light and color. The remembered moments and stacks of photos that come back to the studio serve as inspiration for the paintings, although at some point in the process, the painting with its juicy surfaces and gestural moments takes on its own life and travels to its own world." Chris Reding is a Professor Emeritus of Fine Art, has shown in galleries and museums throughout California and won an American Institute of Architects Award for her public art.
